A dynamic facial expression in a static mass.
İksa Headquarter Office is a 1,200 m² project designed and implemented in 2021 by Korucuoğlu Architecture for Iksa Engineering in Çankaya, Ankara. Developed conceptually, the building offers an approach that balances the technical simplicity required for an engineering office with a visually striking design.
The building's architectural language is shaped around the principles of durability, clarity, and contemporary design. The main mass is constructed with a simple, rectangular shape, contrasting with the geometric movement of the façade. The diamond-shaped glass panels, particularly used on the façade, refract light at different angles with their reflective surfaces, creating a surface effect that changes throughout the day. This gives the building both aesthetic depth and symbolic dynamism.
The material palette features composite panels in gray tones, black aluminum joinery, and mesh-like shades, achieving a technical, refined, and durable material language on the façade. The office entrances on the ground floor are softened with wood-like vertical slats, tailored to the human scale. These details break up the aloofness of the corporate structure and create a user-friendly interface.
The office units on the upper floors were planned based on functional modularity and are open to the façade to maximize daylight. The open space on the terrace level creates a social core within the building for recreational and meeting functions.
İksa Headquarter Office is an office building that stands out as a simple yet powerful presence within the urban fabric, setting an example in its typology with its rational planning and bold façade language. This project masterfully balances the line between functionality and expression.
