Architecture that gives character to the texture, not the vertical.

AP Forest Gate was designed as a concept project in 2021 by Korucuoğlu Architecture for Şani İnşaat on a 130,000 m² site in the Yenimahalle district of Ankara. The project features a hybrid settlement scenario combining vertical residential blocks and low-rise villa-style units.

The massing organization varies in line with the terrain's slope and urban context, creating a texture that varies both horizontally and vertically. This way, high-rise blocks open to the sky, while garden residences offer residents a life directly connected to the greenery. The elevation differences between them allow each unit to find its own unique character and are balanced within a holistic composition.

The project's façade design features red tones layered over anthracite tones, creating a dynamic rhythm and visually reflecting the horizontal and vertical movement. With balconies, overhangs, and frame details, the façade becomes a living surface, not a static one. Frame-shaped overhangs, particularly used in villa-style residences, add both depth and architectural identity to the building.

The residential blocks, with their introverted courtyards and social spaces, create a sense of inner space. These spaces are designed as scaled open spaces where users can socialize and children can play safely. By clearly separating vehicle traffic from pedestrian circulation, both safety and comfort are prioritized.

AP Forest Gate proposes a user-centered residential layout that seeks to counter monotonous verticality through scale and diversity. Demonstrating a distinctive presence through massing, color, and material selection, the project reflects a design approach that stands out within the urban fabric yet remains distinctly contextual.
