Concept
"A contemporary, simple and confident stance that gently touches the urban fabric."
Located in Çankaya, Ankara, Hampton by Hilton is designed as a city hotel that strongly asserts its character amidst the dense urban landscape. Built on a 9,500 m² site, the building offers a mixed-use program, combining both accommodation and commercial functions.
The rectangular mass geometry is integrated into the triangular shape of the site, creating a layout strategy that respects the parcel's orientation and circulation flows. The relationship with the city is achieved through the pedestrian-friendly permeability of the building's facades and the ground-floor commercial units, while the upper-floor accommodation units maintain privacy and quiet.
Vertical sunshades on the façade create a dynamic rhythm throughout the building, giving it a dynamic character and filtering daylight to optimize interior comfort. The metal perforated façade, the building's most striking feature, offers diverse reflections in both daylight and nighttime lighting, creating a unique interpretation of the hotel's corporate identity.
The red roof module resting on the terrace plane stands out as a design element that emphasizes the roof's form and provides an elegant addition to the silhouette, going beyond a mere symbolic color choice. This decision conveys the brand's dynamic and youthful spirit through the architectural language.
The street connection created at the ground level is supported by wide sidewalks, street furniture, and a pedestrian-friendly design approach. The landscaped area at the rear of the building serves as a micro-public space offering guests a chance to relax and breathe.
In conclusion, Hampton by Hilton Ankara offers a functional and contemporary interpretation of a global brand, adapted to the local landscape, and a building that succeeds in integrating into the city and nourishing its context.
