Vertical construction redefining urban scale in mixed use

Developed in Oran, one of Ankara's prestigious residential districts, Oran Housing + Shopping Mall is a large-scale mixed-use project encompassing a vast 165,000 m² site, combining residential, shopping, and public living components. Developed in its conceptual phase, this project stands out for its multifaceted relationship with the city and its architectural style.

The high-rise block that forms the backbone of the project is functionally divided into residential and hotel units. Its silhouette, offering a commanding perspective on the city, is designed as a new focal point for the city. The glass facade shell strengthens the vertically rising structural language while maximizing its visual connection to the urban landscape.

The lower-level shopping and social spaces are designed semi-sunken, utilizing the sloping site. The building creates a volume composition that blends in with the topography. Green terraces, permeable pedestrian connections, and open space arrangements make the building accessible not only to private users but also to the public.

The project utilizes a simple geometry, balanced facade elements with warm textures, and green roofs that integrate with the landscape. Despite its high building density, it offers a proposal that is in harmony with its surroundings.

With its functional diversity, scaled architecture, and sensitive approach to the urban fabric, Oran Housing + Shopping Mall is a visionary representation of the new generation of mixed-use living spaces envisioned in the capital. Although not yet implemented, it has earned its place in the architectural archives as a powerful proposal that pushes the boundaries of urban design.
